House of Cards has a long history of a F*ck you attitude towards its fans and a lack of care for its ratings. I believe that Netflix has anticipated this, i think they wanted it. Despite the departure of Kevin Spacey, which almost destroyed the show, will still have a foundation for a true final season. HOC is not your typical do-good white-washed political drama, its upside down American flag is not just a middle finger but its symbol. I think a show with a reputation of defying all the odds and does whatever it cares can do this. Not only does having an open ending give the ability to continue the narrative, it gives it a foundation. Every season the Underwoods would defeat their enemies and make some new ones. Whether its Bob Birch or Tom Yates, this show continues to persevere through criticism and bad rating. Its dedication to continue no matter what shows that this will not be the end. The two key parts of a story are still alive, a conflict and characters. While i don't think that the writers have the funds nor time to put the full dedication to truly finish the narrative. This show truly captures the full power of a camera. Despite its truly terrifying story and masterful use of perspective, color and sound. This show is tells a story that deserves to be told.
With all this combined i do truly think that the writers and the actors want to finish there brain child and they have the stage to do so. This was the very first Netflix original and that alone deserves it an award, however, the show must go on.
