Biography[]
Betsy Bourke was a Conservative Party MP, and she was appointed to Prime Minister Francis Urquhart's cabinet. She held liberal views, opposing Home Secretary John Rayner's attacks on the social safety net, and supporting keeping sick people in hospitals regardless of their finances. At a cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Urquhart, she and Rayner debated the issue, and she was supported by Foreign Secretary Tom Makepeace. Urquhart criticized her performance after bringing up the fact that she was not enforcing his Vagrancy Act, causing her to cry, and causing fellow Cabinet member Geoffrey Booza Pitt to confess his love for her in private, calming her.
