Clean Water Initiative (CWI) is a charitable organization. It was founded in 2004 by Claire Underwood. However, Claire Underwood only cared about CWI in order to increase her and Frank's image to the public. The current CEO is Gillian Cole.
Season 1[]
CWI offices first appeared in Chapter 1 and was shown to be a non-profit organization run by Claire Underwood.
CWI Charity Gala[]
The CWI Charity Gala was a fundraising event, organized at the Hotel Cotesworth and managed by CWI's CEO, Claire Underwood, appearing in Chapter 5. Its purpose was to find new fundraisers and collect new funds for the Clean Water Initiative, because of rejecting SanCorp's funds of $1.5M.
