Biography[]
Hilda Cordwainer was a Conservative Party MP, and she was a committed Thatcherite, opposing government intervention in the economy. She was given a cabinet post under Prime Minister Francis Urquhart, and her rebuke of Environment Secretary Dick Caul's "Centreplan" in 1993 led to Caul being removed from the Cabinet to serve in a post in Strasbourg, France.
