The United States Solicitor General is the person appointed to represent the federal government of the United States before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Heather Dunbar was appointed Solicitor General in between Season 2 and Season 3, but later resigned to pursue her candidacy for the 2016 Presidential Election. A CNN broadcast states she is the second Solicitor General to run for President, with the first being William Howard Taft.

  • The statement made in the show's CNN broadcast is inaccurate as John W. Davis, who served as Solicitor General under President Woodrow Wilson, ran for President during the 1924 Presidential Election. Thus, this would make Heather Dunbar the third to do so.
