William Urquhart is the middle son of the Earl of Bruichladdich, and his sole surviving son. His elder brother Alistair was killed during World War II, and his younger brother Francis was assassinated during his tenure as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
William worked for the family estate and occasionally sat in the House of Lords.
